Re: The NXT Thread
The crowd goes absolutely apeshit.
Re: The NXT Thread
That event apparently drew 5200 fans.

Re: The NXT Thread
That's almost as good as a Smackdown taping, and from the few fan videos the crowd looked like one of the hottest crowds ever, especially considering it was 1AM. Granted, it's special circumstances, but still awesome...JTCole wrote:That event apparently drew 5200 fans.

That attendence number is insane.
Re: The NXT Thread
And it was pretty much all grass roots, word of mouth hype via the internet. No national TV ads.Mr. Mojo Risin wrote:That attendence number is insane.

That's what makes it insane.
Re: The NXT Thread
Two big pieces of news; Network now has 1.3 million subs worldwide so that's good for NXT. Second, they are advertising monthly live specials now. That might not be good news but we'll see.

Re: The NXT Thread
Still under 1 million paying average in Q1. For a quarter that has both Mania and the Rumble, that's not good. As a result, there's been a huge stock fall.
Re: The NXT Thread
Ugh, this sucks. They're gonna have like 3-4 hours to build a two-hour special every month, that's way too short. Great way to cheapen your product and the importance of the supercards.JTCole wrote:Two big pieces of news; Network now has 1.3 million subs worldwide so that's good for NXT. Re: The NXT Thread
WWE screwed up their press release, Takeovers are remaining quarterly.
Re: The NXT Thread
That's good news. Honestly I think they could up their live specials to 6 a year and be OK.

Re: The NXT Thread
Agreed that the two hour live specials are good at 4 per year. They could do a live broadcast monthly though, that wasn't necessarily a "special." Have a regular TV taping with one episode broadcast live and the other episodes taped for the rest of the month. For the live episode you could have a big main event, but one that didn't need to be built to ala Owens vs Balor.

Re: The NXT Thread
According to a report contributed to PWInsider, CJ Parker has been released.
Re: The NXT Thread
That's a shame. Personally I thought he could have worked as an annoying heel on Raw and his ring skills weren't that bad.
Maybe he can get a spot in ROH since he was initially trained by Truth Martini.

Re: The NXT Thread
CJ Parker will now be going by the name of CJP on the indies. He's already been booked for CZW's Best of the Best 14 next weekend.
Re: The NXT Thread
Official attendance of the San Jose show was 4700. Not quite 5200 as reported earlier but still bugnuts crazy.

Re: The NXT Thread
I read somewhere (sorry, I forget where) that WWE isn't considering the ECW Arena because they want a bigger venue given the live success so far. Anyone else hear this?
If true, I think it's a little premature. Yeah, NXT is popular, but a Wrestlemania weekend show is sure to get a much better draw than usual, right?

Re: The NXT Thread
From last week's Observer:
Expect more major events from NXT. There is talk of running NXT shows on Saturday nights in markets that WWE does a PPV on Sundays in. That would mean another head-to-head confrontation with ROH on 8/22 if they do this in New York for SummerSlam. Originally they were going to book smaller arenas, but rumors in Philadelphia is when they debut there, they are no longer looking at the 2300 Arena which holds 1,000, but instead the Liacouris Center at Temple University, a 10,000-seat arena.
