So I'm guessing both guys were injured on Night 6?

Sucks that both guys are injured, but I feel more sorry for Goto than Tenzan. Tenzan was really only having average to good matches (maybe because of his age) but Goto was doing pretty good for himself. He beat Devitt & Okada.

Shibata & Nakamura (Go Shinsuke!!!) are currently at the top of their respective Blocks. Anyone see this changing?

Sucks to see Goto ruled out with injury (a broken jaw, apparently) because it looked like this year would finally see him go all the way.

My Day 5 Review:

1.) G1 Climax - Block A - Satoshi Kojima vs. Tomohiro Ishii: ***1/4
2.) G1 Climax - Block B - Tori Yano vs. Hiroyoshi Tenzan: **
3.) G1 Climax - Block A - Katsuyori Shibata vs. Lance Archer: **3/4-***
4.) G1 Climax - Block B - Tetsuya Naito vs. Shelton Benjamin: **1/2-**3/4
5.) G1 Climax - Block B - Karl Anderson vs. Minoru Suzuki: ***
6.) G1 Climax - Block B - Yugi Nagata vs. Kota Ibushi: ***
7.) G1 Climax - Block B - Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Yujiro Takahashi: **3/4-***
8.) G1 Climax - Block A - Kazuchika Okada vs. Davey Boy Smith Jr.: ***1/4
9.) G1 Climax - Block A - Hirooki Goto vs. Prince Devitt: **1/2-**3/4
10.) G1 Climax - Block A - Hiroshi Tanahashi vs. Togi Makabe: ***1/4

Overall: 6.25-6.5/10

This was not a very good show. The dead crowd made things even worse. If the crowd was a little more lively that might have helped out some of the matches, but in this case their silence killed things. Also, when Takahashi doesn't bring any hot women to the ring with him, you know the show's not gonna be a good time. I think Karl Anderson put it best:
Karl Anderson ‏@Machinegunka
#njpw Ishikawa fans.. You suck.. You didn't deserve a #G1 show and you proved it.. I hope to never return to this dump of a city.. ##g123

Night 6 Review:

1.) G1 Climax - Block B - Kota Ibushi vs. Shelton "X" Benjamin: ***1/2
2.) G1 Climax - Block B - Toru Yano vs. "The Machine Gun" Karl Anderson: **1/2
3.) G1 Climax - Block A - Tomohiro Ishii vs. Davey Boy Smith Jr.: ***3/4
4.) G1 Climax - Block B - Yujiro Takahashi vs. Minoru Suzuki: ***
5.) G1 Climax - Block A - Togi Makabe vs. Lance Archer: ***
6.) G1 Climax - Block B - Hiroyoshi Tenzan vs. Tetsuya Naito: **1/4
7.) G1 Climax - Block A - Satoshi Kojima vs. Prince Devitt: ***1/4
8.) G1 Climax - Block A - Kazuchika Okada vs. Katsuyori Shibata: ****
9.) G1 Climax - Block B - Yuji Nagata vs. Shinsuke Nakamura: ****
10.) G1 Climax - Block A - Hiroshi Tanahashi vs. Hirooki Goto: ****

Overall: 8.0/10

I'd put this on par with Night One. This show had its stinkers, but had some really good matches as well.

You mean Night 6 ^^^

You've been doing a really good job with your star ratings man, we seem to agree on mostly everything. Night 8 and the finals are looking pretty nuts. Okada/Tanahashi main eventing in Tokyo tonight. Fuck yes. Naito/Nakamura, Suzuki/Ibushi. I'm praying that NJPW just uses Shibata/Nagata as a replacement match tonight because that would be fucking nuts.

So guys believe it or not...Night 8 may have been better than Night 4.

Opener doesn't count in my star ratings since it's not apart of G1 technically.

Devitt/Davey Boy ***1/4
Anderson/Takahashi **1/2
Archer/Kojima ****
Yano/Benjamin **3/4 (I love Yano so fucking much. You should too.)
Makabe/Ishii ****1/4
Ibushi/Suzuki ***3/4
Nakamura/Naito ****
Okada/Tanahashi ****1/2.

NJPW is the best wrestling company in the world hands down. Support them.

Five wrestlers in Block A are still in with a chance of winning. Okada & Tanahashi are both still in the runnings. So are Makabe & Davey Jr.

None of that matters though. 'Cause Shibata got this.

I'd be really happy if we got this for the finals.

I have a feeling the Goto injury hurt the most because I feel like he would have at least made the finals so his exit probably changes whatever was originally planned.

I can't believe I'm only in the beginning of Day 4 :(

EDIT:
I just finished Night Three.

Kota Ibushi vs. Karl Anderson - **3/4
Yujiro Takahashi vs. Shelton Benjamin - **
Prince Devitt vs. Tomohiro Ishii - ***1/4
Hiroyoshi Tenzan vs. Minoru Suzuki - *1/2
Tetsuya Naito vs. Yuji Nagata - ***
Kazuchika Okada vs. Lance Archer - ***
Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Toru Yano - **3/4
Hirooki Goto vs. Satoshi Kojima - ***
Katsuyori Shibata vs. Togi Makabe - ***
Hiroshi Tanahashi vs. Davey Boy Smith Jr. - ***1/2

It was a solid show, 3 stars match after 3 stars match, next day should be great.

Dave thanks for supporting NJPW. For everyone else, the show tonight starts at 2 AM EST and is available to order on UStream for $30.

Dave the way it goes tonight is there will be the final 8 G1 tournament matches, then a special 6 man tag match, and then the Finals. So the finalists will be wrestling twice tonight.
