You seem to have forgotten that their TV and Youtube viewership completely cratered during this storyline.

I think we can all agree that at worst Omega would be top 5.NewROHFan2020 wrote: ↑Tue Aug 17, 2021 9:47 amIs Omega it’s biggest star? Cody? What has Omega drawn in the US? He didn’t even wrestle full time for ROH. Very few wrestling fans watch NJPW. The husband with the 10 year old son is buying tickets to see WWE guys, not guys wrestling at 3am in Japanese. You could argue that Christian, Miro, Big Show, and Cody are “bigger stars”.Shanahan wrote: ↑Tue Aug 17, 2021 5:00 pmOK...he's number 2 behind Jericho. Just because Omega is considered a “good wrestler” doesn’t mean he’s a big draw to the average fan. Some of you think that everyone watches everything and it’s simply not the case.
Re: IMPACT Wrestling Official Thread
We are talking about AEW guys appearing on Impact. We are talking hardcore AEW fans tuning into Impact to see Omega. Omega is a top draw for AEW fans. That's what Impact was hoping for. Impact can't draw in casual's. The man with his 10 year old son isn't searching their guide to find what channel Impact is on but the nerdy AEW marks who write fan fiction do but for some reason they aren't tuning in and hardcore Impact fans tuned out. We are all trying to figure this out.NewROHFan2020 wrote: ↑Wed Aug 18, 2021 8:45 amCody? What has Omega drawn in the US? He didn’t even wrestle full time for ROH. Very few wrestling fans watch NJPW. I don't know if my reply to your PM went through, the message seems to be stuck in my Outbox, but here is the information you asked me for
January-February: 197,000 high, 147,000 low, 167,250 average
March-April: 168,000 high, 116,000 low, 139,279 average
May-June: 143,000 high, 109,000 low, 121,625 average
July-August: 122,000 high, 69,000 low, 105,714 average
If you take the January-February numbers and compare them to the July-August numbers, that's a drop of roughly 37%
In 2020 they averaged over 40 million Youtube views per month, in 2021 under 25 million, for a drop of roughly 39%.

Maybe they do not want to see him on Impact, don’t have the channel, watch it via other means, could be any reason. Maybe Impact dropped viewers because of Omega, or all the things I listened. It’s not black and white. Just like when people blame Kevin Nash and Bret Hart for being the “lowest drawing champions” or whatever.Shanahan wrote: ↑Wed Aug 18, 2021 10:05 amWe are talking about AEW guys appearing on Impact. Unless you have a breakdown of certain data points, it’s all just speculation.

98,000 this week for Impact. Down 28,000 from last week.
The trend of a drop after Impact Plus or PPV shows continues
Pre-Hardcore Justice: 168,000
Post-Hardcore Justice: 132,000
Pre-Rebellion: 145,000
Post-Rebellion: 120,000
Pre-Under Siege: 112,000

Pre-Homecoming: 113,000
Post-Homecoming: 104,000
Pre-Emergence: 126,000
Post-Emergence: 98,000
The last time they gained viewers coming out of a premium show was in March when they added 2,000 viewers after Sacrifice.
Now that August episodes are done with:

This is a ridiculously, absurdly stupid title. This is almost as dumb as the Billy Corgan Stupid Rules Grand Championship.

Well, I think we know why Impact has backed away from Twitch in favor of the Youtube subscription thing.
Their Twitch revenue total from September 2019 through September 2021 was revealed in the recent leak and it was under $70,000. Even at a buck a piece they'd only need a few thousand subscribers to top their Twitch revenue.

Re: IMPACT Wrestling Official Thread
I've kinda quietly been enjoying impact more lately now; than in several years past. It's not great' and i still prefer ROH, AEW; and even WWE... BUT I'm liking a few things happening in Impact. (Yes, there is lots to dislike in the past year; specifically Omega coming in; and basically Moose & RIch Swann being screwed)
The Good
- Christian Cage - Think he could be a great leader for the company. Has quite a history there; and IF booked right; could be a huge asset. Guess we'll see soon enough if he's sticking around.
- Josh Alexander - Been solid in the ring all year.
- Women's division has been solid all year
- Using NJPW guys, EL P, FinJuice , Hikuleo
- Chris Bey - has been a really good signing for them.
- Trey Miguel - I thought they'd really rocket him up the card; but he's been good in the ring for them.
- Bryan Myers/Cardonna/Heath/Morrisey
- Chris Sabin - Nice to see him back with a little push.
The OK
- Ace Austin - he's lost some traction.
- Moose - Poor Moose
- Eddie Edwards - Still playing that veteran gatekeeper role.
- Sami Callahan & Eric Young - They are basically the same still right?
The Bad
- Good Brothers / tag division. The good brothers make me want to turn out.
- Their weird backstage segments. I always fast forward. Swinger was funny at first to me; but now he's over stayed his welcome
Long story short... spending lots of money, improves your product. They've got some good wrestlers; and now just need some compelling storylines/angles to make some stars.

Re: IMPACT Wrestling Official Thread
Tried watching it..had to turn it off.
When the opening segment is #1 contender tag team match & it's Bullet Club vs. Chaos to challenge the Champs who are (Former?) Bullet Club . . . There is a serious problem. Example of Relying on the forbidden door too much.
Then the digital Championship match is some intergender 3way tornado tag match??? too complicated. Too contrived.
Had to switch to NFL & dark side of the ring.
Was interested in seeing how the tag team formerly known as the iiconics was going to be presented.
Maybe I'll try watching next week ... maybe not.

Re: IMPACT Wrestling Official Thread
Impact loves to fall into the habit of saying " we have this star that was important in this other company." They have done this with Omega, Good Brothers, FinJuice anyone in Bullet Club in the past year. It's been an issue long before that but is really showing during this time frame. The former Iiconics are the latest in that trend.tigermask7.0 wrote: ↑Fri Oct 22, 2021 5:44 amP.S. I enjoyed the Josh Alexander promo video. That was well done.
