The Wrestling Observer Newsletter is reporting that TNA often has to pay the buildings they’re renting to cover what they owe, instead of the usual method of the arena getting a cut of the final settlement.
In December, TNA held an event at Temple University. They had to give Temple a $15,000 check because attendance was so low that TNA was unable to cover what they owed for renting the building.

Bad News for TNA:
Re: The TNA Thread
Apparently the latest house show drew around 1500 so that's a definite improvement.

Re: The TNA Thread
I'd love to get confirmation of that and not just heresay. I'm not saying you're wrong but it's easy to say something like that, even from a live report. Was it a hot card? I doubt it. House show circuits usually dont change much. Does the WV mrket usually draw well? How do you go from 500-800 to 1500? Its either a false report, or, WV draws two times better than almost every other city. It's entirely possible just weird.JTCole wrote:Apparently the latest house show drew around 1500 so that's a definite improvement.

a.) Continue to build them before winning at the next PPV
b.) Continue to build them before winning at the next batch of Impact tapings named after a former PPV
c.) Put the belts on them at the earliest house show you can, regardless of how pitiful the crowd size is
No prizes for guessing which option she picked...

Re: The TNA Thread
Wolves winning the belts at a random house show is an odd decision, but I think titles should change hands every once in awhile at house shows to make them more unpredictable and people will want to go.

Re: The TNA Thread
Last time that happened, didn't the titles switch back before the next show? Of course, they announced it pretty hard...
No one should be surprised given how the Bro-Mans have been buried this last month.

I am cosmetically pleasing.

Re: The TNA Thread
Finally got around to watching ONO Tag Team Tournament that's been sat on my DVR for the longest time. Fairly solid, with a fair few good matches, but nothing really good. Consistent, and slowly declining in quality as it went on, but nothing offensive.
Williams & Dutt vs. Generation Me ***1/2
Hot Shots vs. Aces & Eights **3/4
British Invasion vs. Roode & Aries ***
Chavo & Hernandez vs. Bad Influence ***
Aces & Eights vs. Joe & Magnus **1/2
Generation Me vs. Team 3D ***
Aries & Roode vs. Joe & Magnus **3/4
Chavo & Hernandez vs. Team 3D **3/4
Team 3D vs. Aries & Roode **1/2
As a side note, I've just started watching Hardcore Justice 3, and they've got a very good, loud crowd. It feels weird for TNA

Stick a fork in this fed already.
TNA Impact failed to make the top 100 shows on cable in the 18-49 demo last night, and that went down to shows that delivered 0.2s.

Re: The TNA Thread
TNA Sacrifice 2005
Sean Waltman vs. Jerry Lynn
Phenomenal selling from Lynn in this one, as this was in-ring return (at least for TNA) since Juventud Guerrera sloppily dropped him shoulder-first while attempting a Michinoku Driver the month before. The story is simple going into this, with both men going back more than a decade, and the match involving both the month before. If only Lynn had just a little bit more charisma or did a better job with his hope spots, this would have been some really great stuff. I don't mind Lynn winning with a rollup pin due to his veteran experience. ***1/2
Super X Cup 2005 Tournament Final and X-Division Title Shot Match
Samoa Joe vs. AJ Styles
This was on its way to being just as outstanding as their previous singles matches in ROH and PWG. Very impressive performance from Joe considering his match the night before for ROH in Chicago (plus don't forget how emotionally drained he may have been from saying goodbye to CM Punk on that show.) Both men did a great job in countering each other's shit. My favorite moment was Joe baiting Styles into performing a kip-up head-scissors, then turning into his trademark powerbomb/STF combo. The ref bump and interference from Christopher Daniels kept this from being truly great, but the title of the show IS "Sacrifice," so I can tolerate it to buildup to the next PPV chapter involving these men. ***3/4

Re: The TNA Thread
I remember loving the Sacrifice 2005 PPV back in the day, hard to believe it was almost 9 years ago. TNA seemed to have so much momentum and potential back in 2005 through mid 2006, and then Russo had to make it WCW 2000 level bad within the space of a few months

Re: The TNA Thread
It's one of the only three monthly TNA PPVs I ever ordered - I was on the Raven bandwagon, and stoked to see Joe vs. Styles plus Daniels vs. Aries.

Because Kojima is NWA champion.
How come NWA champion on TNA PPV.
