Re: Random ROH Thoughts Thread

The 800 buys thing is insane. It’s sad to see, honestly. I thought it was a good show, too.

Re: Random ROH Thoughts Thread

Flamita is great. You can’t deny ROH has some great talent at times. Flamita is one of the most exciting guys to watch in all of wrestling. Bring him back to the states and just book him vs Dragon Lee. Or Rush vs Flamita. Guarantee you they’d tear the house down.

Re: Death Before Dishonor 2019 Thread (9/27 Las Vegas)

FSW is like a tree falling in the woods, and no one see's or hears it. I assume that's a local Vegas indy that's cool, but in reality nothing on that show mattered. Seems like a cool lineup though. At least with the ROH show you got some cool ROH debuts, and some title tournament matches, and a dec...

Re: Death Before Dishonor 2019 Thread (9/27 Las Vegas)

Fallout show was the typical TV taping style show that they do here in Vegas. Iffy stuff throughout and then a really fun main event. Jake Atlas and Bateman didn’t really impress me. I’ve seen Atlas at 1 PWG show and he was decent there. I heard he killed it at BOLA but this ROH match wasn’t anythin...

Re: Death Before Dishonor 2019 Thread (9/27 Las Vegas)

It was a really great show live last night. Dude they REALLY have to get better at mic’ing the crowd. Turn Ian and Caprice down a little bit. They are so loud on the ppv and you can barely hear the crowd. Ian is also a little too excited, he’s like Mauro but even LOUDER than Mauro. Live, that crowd ...

Re: NJPW/ROH Relationship Status

I think that the issue was that RoH would get someone like Okada and its like he can't lose and he might appear again next year. So not much you can really do with that? With, for example, GoD it was a bit different. They had, including MSG, 4 matches against Briscoes and one against Lethal/Gresham...

Re: Death Before Dishonor 2019 Thread (9/27 Las Vegas)

I think that we are probably moving towards some Flip/Tracy blow off at Final Battle so adding TV title to the mix could make it a bigger deal, but unfortunately I don't see where Taylor's story goes if he loses TV title here. So I think that he is retaining. If he's bringing in some new partner gu...

Re: NJPW/ROH Relationship Status

New Japan's US shows this weekend don't look all that special. I think with some ROH guys on there, they could be stronger cards. But New Japan also has a lot of buzz which ROH doesn't have right now. New Japan could honestly send some lower-midcard guys down to Ring of Honor and it'd feel special. ...

Re: NJPW/ROH Relationship Status

Meltzer said this morning that Cobb is going for the tag team tournament. But that he didn't know who his partner would be. And that he expects Bandido to go for the junior one.

Re: Death Before Dishonor 2019 Thread (9/27 Las Vegas)

Flip did an interview with Sports Illustrated website. To me, he should win the TV title match Friday. There should be no reason whatsoever to have Shane Taylor retain in that match. Just put Shane Taylor in his little rebel gimmick and have him do segments that nobody cares about... but get the tit...

Re: Death Before Dishonor 2019 Thread (9/27 Las Vegas)

All I said was that Brody would be a better champion than Taven. And that the crowd is not really into Rush as much as ROH would like them to be. I wasn’t really comparing Rush/Brody. My whole point is that ROH should look at who the world likes and respects in wrestling and book accordingly. Their ...

Re: Death Before Dishonor 2019 Thread (9/27 Las Vegas)

How can you make the argument Rush can’t be Champion but argue Brody King should be? One of the least over people on the roster ROH's fans are disenfranchised and also really bored. Brody King is a great wrestler. He comes off like a star in PWG. He doesn't seem like that in ROH because ROH just su...

Re: Death Before Dishonor 2019 Thread (9/27 Las Vegas)

Yeah, one thing that definitely doesn't help is that PWG was last weekend. If you're from California, and you go to 1, 2, or all 3 nights of BOLA, literally some of the best wrestling out there in the world right now... would YOU travel 4 hours to see Matt Taven in a main event? It just makes ROH se...

Re: Death Before Dishonor 2019 Thread (9/27 Las Vegas)

ROH used to really put a lot of effort into their PPVs. Sam’s Town would sell out when they were doing that. Put belts on the wrong people. Book shows that people don’t care about. Push angles/people that the fans just don’t give a shit about. And you have the perfect recipe to send a successful com...

Re: Death Before Dishonor 2019 Thread (9/27 Las Vegas)

well.. https://twitter.com/shane216taylor/status/1176175959390740480 This angle is so dead already, before anything has even happened. It's like the whole CM Punk thing, except it's a lower midcarder that nobody cares about. And it's not even believable that anybody else would want him. Just a bad ...

Re: Death Before Dishonor 2019 Thread (9/27 Las Vegas)

Damn. I just looked at the tickets available and it's like, absurd. Saturday TV taping show has like 50% of front row ringside still available. PPV front row ringside is all sold out. But both have SO many tickets still available. I wanted to go on there today and see the sales get better. But like,...

A Matt Taven main event isn’t selling out venues?

I’m very surprised at this.

Re: Death Before Dishonor 2019 Thread (9/27 Las Vegas)

Matt Taven is the world champion. We should start there. If the champion is not believable, any sort of hierarchy that PCO or Brody King would fit into just doesn't make sense. They're climbing the invisible ladder so they can get to the top, where MATT TAVEN is?!?! It just doesn't make sense. So at...
