Re: The WCW Thread
Wasn't happy with how sloppy and barebones the existing list is, so here you go - http://meltzerstarratingsv2.blogspot.com/2014/12/dave-meltzers-wcw-star-ratings.html Awesome. Thanks for posting that. Some of those matches I completely forgot about. The sheer excellence of Ric Flair carrying Marcus...

Re: 2015 Predictions
Styles, Bucks, whoever, appearing in ROH once in a while is way better than not at all. Why wouldn't you want to see these guys wrestle as many places as possible? And given that the ROH exclusive contract guys are still getting booked on NJPW and missing ROH dates says that nothing would change an...

Re: 2015 Predictions
Why not both? If the two companies have a functioning and positive partnership why should he not be able to work both? I agree with Sandy Fork. AJ's stock has only risen since leaving TNA. It benefits everybody involved. It's almost with Styles not appearing as much, his demand by ROH fans only inc...

Meltzer: As of about a week ago, the advance for the Tokyo Dome was 50% ahead of the same period last year, and the most tickets sold for a New Japan Dome show this far in advance since the All Japan vs. New Japan Toshiaki Kawada vs. Kensuke Sasaki feud, and that was one super hot program at the ti...

I totally agree. Roddy was the first person I thought of when El Patron was signed. Like you I expect this to be an excellent match.supersonic wrote:

Re: Official Final Battle 2014 Thread
I second the motion. How many posters can be wrong? There are several matches I wouldn't mind seeing him in. El Patron and Busick would really elevate the roster and it give it a shot in the arm it so desperately needs. The Dragon Saga wrote:I'm not going to go overboard. Re: Official Final Battle 2014 Thread
Dragon Gate draw crowds of 1000-2000 people regularly, bigger than most ROH crowds, should ROH close their doors as well? And their big shows draw between 10 to 18 thousand. They've been around for 15 years and are doing good business. Not to mention having lucrative TV deals in Japan and sponsorsh...

I agree with you 100%. I didn't bring Hogan and Warrior into this. This guy did.supersonic wrote:Hogan and Warrior, when in their primes, were just as great at their styles as the Young Bucks are right now at their own. Same with Ric Flair. Same with Bryan Danielson. Same with Big Show and Mark Henry.

Re: Elgin leaving?
Well let's even take an ROH example. On Final Battle you had 3 matches I thought were good, the main event, the tv title and the Elgin match. Why isn't Elgin's match or the main event getting 4 stars. Warrior sold in matches tho, Hogan too, I mean one look from the Hulkster and the crowd would go w...

Re: Elgin leaving?
Yes but here's the thing, when Hogan or Warrior did a move, a finisher, the match ended only very rarely did people kick out of there finishers. It just didnt happen. When the Bucks do a ton of finishers, superkicks etc and people kick out, it too me personally makes them look weak. See the differe...

Re: Elgin leaving?
You spend five minutes digging around on a message board looking for something you can perceive as an authoritative inconsistency. That's your first flaw. Perhaps the Bucks are over because they don't cut lame work/shoot meltdown promos in the ring and on social media and also know how to play off ...

I'm telling you the only way this can be resolved is in an unauthorized post! Much like Final Battle 2014, neither man will be the same afterwards! A Debate Without Honor is the only way gentlemen. Robareid the Moderator in one corner! Chris 20000 in the other. The young upstart versus the authority...

Re: Alberto Del Rio in ROH?
Hats off to ROH for picking him up. What a great business move. While many us here are critical of SBG on many issues, this is a time we have to stand back and acknowledge that for all of our bitching; SBG is at least trying to make ROH the #2 promotion in the United States. Meanwhile TNA, who is a...

Re: Official Final Battle 2014 Thread
ROH's history is littered with questionable booking including not completely capitalizing on a bandwagon (Black, Steen & Generico, Michael Shane, etc.) because the company somehow thought that the likes of Xavier, Jerry Lynn, jabroni factions, etc. were best for business. Ah, Michael Shane. I f...
