Re: Any evidence?

Is this about Marty Scurll? It looks like almost no one knows anything for sure about his status (or NWA's with ROH). I'd rather not let any material out that might dampen what Marty is trying to achieve while still a free agent.

Re: Final Battle 2019 - Official Thread

I went into the show with a somewhat open mind and came out feeling really down on ROH. It's not even been the same company since August. Flip is getting a quarter of the reaction he did a year ago, Bully puts on another extremely selfish match, Angelina Love has to endure a really humiliating squas...

Re: Final Battle 2019 - Official Thread

Before tomorrow's main event, it might be worth your time to revisit or watch for the first time PCO's (as Jean Pierre Lafitte) awesome match with Bret Hart. Another video to revisit is Kenny Johnson's mini documentary of PCO from last year.

Re: Final Battle 2019 - Official Thread

Chikara did a legendarily good job on using intergender match-ups too. You have to (of course) book it right, start from building main event quality tag matches with main event quality wrestlers and work down from there. I think any promotion with a men and women's division can do it effectively. Mo...

Re: Random ROH Thoughts Thread

Hindsight is a wonderful thing and people will obviously take Ciampa now as the guy they missed out on. That just simply isn’t the case, also would Ciampa be the same guy without what Joe Koff did, what happened during his time at NXT. ROH was a different place in terms of contract offers and talen...

Re: AEW Discussion

I agree. I also think that in most cases money is more important for wrestlers. and that they simply go to the US because of this since there are good salaries. I’m also going there, tell me what I need for it? and I need to know the United States zip codes in advance. Is this worldpostalcode.com/u...

Re: ALL PURPOSE CONTRACT STATUS/POTENTIAL DEPARTURES THREAD

Signing with CMLL could basically mean anything (especially when conveyed through a promo), but as has been pointed out it should make him exclusive to CMLL when working in Mexico. The announcement is somewhat shocking as it's expected that Bandido likes to work in several places and CMLL looks to b...

Re: Final Battle 2019 - Official Thread

Does anyone think Klein will defend the title at Final Battle? Has she already wrestled her last match? This year is the first year where it really felt like ROH didn’t care about in-ring stuff anymore. Sure, in past years the in-ring quality had fallen off considerably. But 2019 is where they just ...

Re: Final Battle 2019 - Official Thread

I don't think this falls wildly off from other PPV cards this year or basically any other past 2015. Final Battle rarely winds up being show of the year anyway. The only thing I'm down about is having Bully Ray on the card for a preposterous third year in a row and, as Montana pointed out, it is so ...

Re: Random ROH Thoughts Thread

Colette Arrand's one of the best critics in wrestling. She's now written two pieces on Joey's leaks about the management of the company. From her most recent piece on Fanbyte: https://www.fanbyte.com/wrestling/what-the-hell-is-happening-in-ring-of-honor-part-2/ A significant amount of coverage on th...

Re: Random ROH Thoughts Thread

One of the more frustrating things about these leaked conversations is how totally apathetic Gilleland is to wrestlers becoming stars. He seems totally detached from the star-making process and the idea of how ROH established its reputation/legacy. The return on investment on the Young Bucks, Cody, ...

Re: Random ROH Thoughts Thread

Speculating on someone's mental health is a big no-no on the internet. I will delete any future comments on the subject matter. I am willing to believe that there is at least some sincerity in Jeff and TK's defense of ROH, but keep in mind a somewhat veteran member of the roster just got let go fro...

I have for the past twelve months built up Lagana as a sort of miracle producer for getting NWA off the ground, but in the light of the bad, BAD retweet of his going out there:

famicommander was right.

Re: Random ROH Thoughts Thread

This will be my last post on this because I’m over this Joey mercury / Kelly Klein situation. - I 100% support proper medical staffs being at the show. (Which ROH management says they provide) - This article is not exactly unbiased , although they take quotes from ROH, they clearly paint ROH as the...

Re: Random ROH Thoughts Thread

This is easily the worst a company has lurched into disrepair since TNA was taken off of Spike. Kelly Klein, and moreover the entire women's division, was never beloved, but it's clear to see the pay injustice, lack of safety protocol, and general underserving afforded to ROH women's workers. How sp...

Re: Random ROH Thoughts Thread

Interesting comments by ACH. Never heard anyone complain that there was only one "TOP" African American in a company. First off the irony that making the comment, when there is one at the top. Secondly, it's not like ANYONE at the time was saying Cedric/ACH or anyone else on the roster at...

Re: The WWE Thread

Part of what makes it so shocking is that it's clearly removed from being a "Vince" idea. WWE's racist angles are ongoing. Last year they ran a terrible transmisogynoir segment with Lashley's "sisters" and they're doing a poor taste cheating angle between Lana and Lashley that se...

Re: The WWE Thread

If you're someone like me who maybe monitors a little bit of what happens in the WWE but has no idea what infrequently appearing NXT talents are up to, apparently Myles/ACH is doing a smile gimmick, which elevates the mistake from being a huge oversight to being a mistake that implies that either a)...

Re: Random ROH Thoughts Thread

I imagine Maff will have to set the record for time in between ROH matches. Off the top of my head, the longest I can remember was Paul London (almost ten years), this will be over fourteen. EDIT: Sumie Sakai probably had over ten years between matches. Ah, this is really fascinating! I'm pretty su...
