Re: The PWG Thread

No Travis Banks this weekend, visa issues. Hoping they'll book a replacement, but based on how they've handled similar situations this year I'm not optimistic.

Re: Soaring Eagle Cup 2017 Official Thread

If they do have Castle beat Cody here though, I think i'd prefer it be in the finals, tbh. Put it in the main event, make it feel like a big deal.

Re: Soaring Eagle Cup 2017 Official Thread

I think Castle over Silas would be better. You can do Castle over Lethal in the semis without "wasting" Cody's loss on a made guy (Lethal or Daniels) or on the guy already getting the rub from winning the tournament (Castle). Would help keep (or regain, depending on how Global Wars goes) Silas' mome...

Re: Soaring Eagle Cup 2017 Official Thread

I was down on this show when it was announced, but considering what a piss poor job they have done at building actual ROH talent as challengers for Cody since he won the belt, someone beating him in a non title singles match would at least be something.

Re: Global Wars 2017 Thread

I think Lethal and Silas are done with each other. I think each guy doing increasingly dickish things right in front of the referee until he finally gets sick of it and DQs both of them would be lazy, but it could be kind of fun, and better than jobbing Silas.

Re: Global Wars 2017 Thread

I thought when these shows were announced we were all in agreement that using B level NJPW talent to give some B level market shows a little more juice than Road to Whatever or Reloaded: Pittsburgh was a great idea. Did Omega getting booked change things? As long as you are confident of being able t...

Re: The PWG Thread

I'm just glad they aren't waiting until December to run their first post BOLA show this year. Strange to see such a difference in talent rosters though. No Marty, Bucks, ZSJ, Trent, Sydal or Chuck on Night One. No Riddle, Keith Lee, Trevor Lee, Cobb, Guevara, Fenix or Flamita on Night Two.

Re: Random ROH Thoughts Thread

Maybe it's common to sign for more shows than they plan to run so they don't have to cherry pick dates to book a guy at the end of the year because they ran more shows earlier in the year than they planned. 35 seems like a ton of NJPW dates, but if they run in the US on a semi regular basis next yea...

Re: Project Rewatch - ROH: The Good Shit

I think a stable led by Jack Evans was always going to be ... different, and not particularly serious, outside of the fued with the NRC. So I kind of liked the name and Smokes as the hype man, letting him show a different character. But Ruckus and Jigsaw killed the thing dead for me. Human Tornado w...

Re: FloSports Files Lawsuit Against WWN

But ... EVOLVE ran for years without FloSlam. The way I've read into it was WWN was doing OK, then some money mark threw a giant pile of money at them, which they didn't bother investing it anything. So why wouldn't they just go back to doing business like they did before FloSlam? Are there stories ...

Re: Official 9/23/17 DBD TV Taping SPOILERS thread

Eh, I think the way they did is fine. Lethal is honorable, Daniels & Kazarian are not. Lethal going for the grand slam (World title, Pure title, TV title already held) teaming with Kushida against MCMG is not a match that I knew I wanted, but I'd be into it. Between Lethal going for the only belt he...

Re: ALL PURPOSE CONTRACT STATUS/POTENTIAL DEPARTURES THREAD

Whatever. I like Cody as a person, and he's a better wrestler than, say, Ryback. I might even like him in ROH if he and Marty switched roles. I just hope that the contract isn't for so much that ROH is obligated to keep him in the main event forever, match quality be damned.

Re: The PWG Thread

Night One (Oct. 20th) Adam Brooks (PWG Debut) vs. Mark Haskins Joey Janela vs. Trevor Lee Jeff Cobb vs. Jonah Rock Flash Morgan Webster vs. Travis Banks WALTER vs. Ricochet REY FENIX vs. Flamita vs. Sammy Guevara vs. Rey Horus Also Keith Lee vs Matt Riddle. Probably has happened in EVOLVE, but it's...

Re: Official Death Before Dishonor (Las Vegas 9/22) Thread

I would expect it to be an iPPV if it's not a regular PPV. I was hoping it would be the regular PPV to take advantage of Omega, but ASE has been their fall PPV the last two years so I'm not expecting it.

Re: The PWG Thread

Good point about being the first two time winner. I don't see why Chuck losing the belt quick would take away from his title win though. Chuck moving his way up the card to his first title shot was a story they spent over a year on, then after his loss they spent six months building to the rematch. ...

Re: The PWG Thread

Feels like a Ricochet win. Chuck gets his lifetime achievement award beating ZSJ, but considering he only wrestled once over BOLA weekend and is only scheduled for Night Two, it doesn't seem like he's being featured as champion. Considering the rumor mill has Ricochet headed for WWE soonish, it woul...

Re: Random ROH Thoughts Thread

Considering tonight's sad news, Strong & Evans w/ Cornette vs Cabana & Jacobs w/ Bobby would be a good choice for a Throwback Thursday.

Re: Official Death Before Dishonor (Las Vegas 9/22) Thread

I'd say the chances aren't 0%. That said, the story seems to be more about the Machine Guns finishing their bucket list. Considering the epic close calls they've had (Good Times Great Memories, SuperCard of Honor V, All Star Extravaganza VIII), I hope they can turn back the clock like they did for L...

Re: The TNA Thread

When they say that "ROH" was interested in buying Impact last year, I wonder (assume?) if that really should be SBG. And if so, what their intent was / is. Run both promotions independent of one another to double their content? Merge them under one name, maybe after an "Invasion" angle? Hard to imag...
