Re: What's the next realistic step forward?

I'm always amazed that, no matter how many times it's explained, some people just don't understand ROH is owned and operated by a television company, for the purpose of airing it on their own stations.

Re: UStream future & iPPV

The UStream press release makes it sound like they will still do live private streams as long as the company producing the show charges customers for it, instead of them.

Re: JR Criticism of BITW Promotion

Probably true. In which case, unless the show does considerably more buys on televised PPV than they were doing on in-house iPPV, they need to re-evaluate the situation. If it's similar buys, and the extra money goes straight into the PPV distributors' pockets rather than ROH's, that's bad. I hope t...

Re: JR Criticism of BITW Promotion

$25 for an internet stream is more than I am willing to pay, considering they have done them in the past at a lower price point. Thus, they have outpriced themselves with this particular customer. Maybe everyone else is willing to drop $25 for a stream. You could also buy on a television, if you wo...

I look forward to Steen in the WWE system. A WWE deal is significant motivation for him to get in better physical condition, resulting in even better matches.

Re: Wait.......so Chris Hero is gone?

To be fair, there is a difference between not being in already announced and advertised (public) match lineups and not being in the future booking plans at all. Nobody except the booker and the wrestlers know what the actual plans do or do not include. There's always guys who might be in the upcomin...

Re: Wait.......so Chris Hero is gone?

They obviously wanted to get behind him with the big return and instant push, but if he's willing to miss out on the NJPW shows and their PPV return because he wants to work for Gabe and some random indies that's his loss. Actually, it's probaby his gain. That's probably the point in him choosing o...

If you want to enjoy the current product, whatever you do, don't watch anything from 2005-2007.

Re: Rob Feinstein's version of the ROH split

Though over the years, the ROH fan base have been, in many ways, trained to support the company through thick and thin, I would strongly suggest that everyone read this post by Feinstein twice. Maybe three times. People in the wrestling business can be pieces of garbage, and in this case, the piece ...

Re: Jim Cornette shoots the shit about his ROH run

More fans of Steen across all of the cities ROH runs, yes. But on that night, the local guys being on the show and selling those tickets resulted in the larger gate. Cornette's overall point was that the "draws" of ROH (such as Steen) weren't drawing across the board, even if in some citie...

Re: Jim Cornette shoots the shit about his ROH run

Family, friends of family, maybe friends of friends etc maybe. My point is selling tickets to people you know in your hometown doesn't make you a draw. How does it not, though? If they sold tickets to people that otherwise wouldn't have come to the show, they still sold tickets. Whether it was base...

Re: Jim Cornette shoots the shit about his ROH run

I just finished watching it. Everyone should watch it. It's long (nearly 3 hours) but very informative, and Cornette paints the perfect picture of what he had to deal with. He convinced a company to bail Cary Silkin out and buy the company, with a logical strategy to keep it alive and take it to the...

So who did he punch a hole in the wall over, when hearing the news of the person being a selfish prick and ruining their plans? Kenny King?
