Re: The NJPW Thread

Suzuki fan here so I might be a little biased, but I dug that match and easily rank it among the best I've seen since returning to NJPW. I'll admit I'm one of those Wrestle Kingdom 11 people so it was cool to see how a regular show stacks up to the yearly spectacle and how the main event compares. H...

Re: The WWE Thread

Maybe he is retiring from wwe and will return to the indies once he is free from wwe contractually. Oh yes I'm sure Bryan will give up a WWE deal to further destroy what's left of his body and brain on the indies. ROH may not be able to line his pockets fat like Vince, but I'm sure once Daniel hear...

From Colt 45’s collection: ROH Final Battle 2008

From Colt 45’s collection: ROH Final Battle 2008 http://media.insidepulse.com/zones/movies/uploads/2009/04/rohfinalbattle2008.jpg Let me begin the review by explaining some pretext. While I’m no longer an avid professional wrestling fan, I still have love for the ROH, and Indy Wrestling in general. ...

Re: Project Rewatch - ROH: The Good Shit

Two things I'd like to comment on. 1) ROH's shitty production can be off putting at first, but videos like the Ballad of Lacey glow with character and only get better over time. I don't like to use this thread to harp on ROH's current product, but what is really missing nowadays is anything enjoyabl...

Re: Project Rewatch - ROH: The Good Shit

2005 will probably go down as my favorite year. It started out strong with 3rd the anniversary series, complete shows with good matches down the card with Night 2 being of my underrated favorites. Later the three show stretch of Manhattan Mayhem - The Final Showdown - Nowhere to Run is legendary fro...

Thanks for the replies! I went with Chikarasaurus but will probably buy more dvd's over the next few weeks. I'd like to have seen a few shows before following the promotion's new chapter.

Re: How did YOU get into ROH?

An admin on a wrestling board I used to frequent back in 2005 had hooked me up with a collection of matches. From there I caught a nice 10 dollar sale on 2004 DVDs, and started keeping up with the then current product. While my newest ROH DVD is from 2009 (GBH VIII), I still looks for old shows to a...

Re: The WWE Thread

I've got to say under first impression the opener was one of the best I've seen. I thought it came off looking a little like IYH Mindgames 96, and that's a good thing because that match also rocked. Like HBK, Bryan mixed his usual athletic offense with a side of brutality, not a usual staple for the...

Re: RATE IT: Morishima vs. Castagnoli (DBD V, Night 1)

****1/4 probably my favorite Claudio match from his ROH career. Also ranks up there on Morishima's title defenses, one of the better reigns concerning match quality.

Re: RATE IT: Steen vs. Generico (Final Battle 2012)

**1/2
Pretty lame match considering the participants. A lot of the spots came off forced, and took focus from the supposed animosity the feud was built on. I'll admit the finish was cool, but there wasn't much of a 'match' prior to the obligatory final bump we've as come to expect from these matches.

Re: Thank You, Whitmer!

While I think BJ's wrestling has always been underrated, his hardcore matches with Punk, Necro, and Jacobs are my favorites. The guy worked a hard hitting style, and paid the price for a lot bumps. Like Foley, Whitmer's high impact career cost him his longevity in the business. From a fan's perspect...

Re: What to do with Jay Briscoe? My thoughts..

Have him sign his walking papers along with his brother. The Briscoes have run their course, what's left for them to do? They've beaten everybody. Not to mention Jay's title run was a flop, and probably the worst since Homicide. At least Cide got to drop the title in an actual match. I'm not hating ...

Re: The WWE Thread

Damn,I'm now wishing I'd ordered Summerlam live after seeing Punk/Lesnar and Bryan/Cena. Both **** plus matches, and so much fun for different reasons. I loved the stiffness of the strikes Punk and Brock threw at each other, as well as the impact of the UFC champions slams and powerbombs. I swear, L...
