Re: Official Global Wars/War Of The Worlds 2016 Super Thread

'Spot monkey' isn't a generic term for someone you don't like. It's generally used to describe a flippity guy who does crazy spots with no psychology or transitions. See Jack Evans, Teddy Hart, Amazing Red, Jeff Hardy, Sonjay Dutt. I will concede your point if I don't have to watch Teddy Hart ever ...

Re: Ring of Honor Events Schedule Thread

Looking like no Atlanta or anywhere else I can drive to rest of the year, which is disappointing. Lasts three shows in ATL had big crowds, but it might be fairly expensive to take ROH on the road that far for a house show. Damn. Actually, they replied to someone on Twitter a few weeks ago who asked...

Re: Official Global Wars/War Of The Worlds 2016 Super Thread

I really like Adam Page's progression from generic young wrestler to young boy to coming out of it as a rising badass. And I enjoy his work in the ring. I think by this time next year he can be in the title scene, at least TV title, in a big way.

Re: Official Global Wars/War Of The Worlds 2016 Super Thread

How about this---will this result in some interesting matches? Yes? Then we're good. Arguing about heels getting cheered, etc, is totally irrelevant in the post-kayfabe world. I honestly don't think it will lead to any interesting match-ups at all. Just out of curiosity, do you think there will eve...

Re: Official Global Wars/War Of The Worlds 2016 Super Thread

Only two of those names could dethrone Lethal RIGHT NOW and the decision would be taken seriously. Don't be silly. Several people on this board were obviously willing to accept Colt Cabana -- a comedy wrestler who's not even super-active on the indie scene anymore and who hasn't been on the roster ...

Re: Official Global Wars/War Of The Worlds 2016 Super Thread

I don't see the lack of star-making that others are talking about. Jay Lethal has been made a star through his booking IMO (obviously he has the talent, but he's been elevated by it). Adam Cole is unquestionably a star. Jay Briscoe was made a star, in my eyes. RIght now he's not in the main event sc...

Re: Official Global Wars/War Of The Worlds 2016 Super Thread

My thoughts on the ending of the show: Cabana and Lethal were having a really good match but then, when Cabana had Lethal locked in the Billy Goat’s Curse, Taeler Hendrix came out and pulled Sinclair out of the ring. For some reason the Young Bucks came out to try to superkick Taeler, but they miss...

Re: Tv title booking in general

I'm very particular about how the TV title should be used.

There should be one strict guideline: it should be defended on TV.

Re: Official Global Wars/War Of The Worlds 2016 Super Thread

I understand the argument, sort of, but I have to say that I have never once thought, "Well, I'm only paying $10 a month for WWE so who cares how the PPV is booked; BUT, I'm paying more for an ROH PPV so they better book it this way ..." If I pay for an event on my TV or iPad, I'm willing...

Re: Official Global Wars/War Of The Worlds 2016 Super Thread

Tonight will be my first live ROH show. I started watching in the beginning then quit when Gabe left and just came back around Final Battle this year. Pretty happy with the product. Doesn't live up to they heyday but nothing ever does. I really enjoyed last night's show overall. Even the fuck finis...

Re: Official Global Wars/War Of The Worlds 2016 Super Thread

-There was some sort of fan altercation in the crowd but instead of sending security to deal with it for some reason Christopher Daniels showed up to handle the situation. Weird. This sounds so Daniels. I have a picture of him marching out in his military jacket like he's inspecting the troops, app...

Re: COLE, STRONG, MOOSE, HATHAWAY LIKELY TO LEAVE ROH

Solid Rovert impression here by Sonic, now using the old trope of attacking posters with pity-toned condescension rather than keeping the discussion to the point. This after vaguely offering "scoops" and pumping insider sources. Threads like this make wrestling forums intolerable. This is...

Re: COLE, STRONG, MOOSE, HATHAWAY LIKELY TO LEAVE ROH

Roddy didn't give notice by the way. His situation is exactly as described. His deal is up in a few months and he'll likely go wherever the best offer in his mind comes from. Just like last year at the same time. There is some frustration with Hunter as booker because he's sometimes difficult to ge...

Re: COLE, STRONG, MOOSE, HATHAWAY LIKELY TO LEAVE ROH

Oh a human level, I guess I wish for everyone to be "happy." But as far as my enjoyment of the product, I really don't care who is and isn't "happy" in the locker room. Some people are never happy. Some people still produce very well when they're unhappy. I can be entertained by ...

Re: COLE, STRONG, MOOSE, HATHAWAY LIKELY TO LEAVE ROH

If 25 percent of the roster is gone within a relatively short amount of time, I'll say I heard it here first. I just don't think things are that desperate at the moment. If anything, the trend for ROH over, say, the last 2-3 years is WAY up. I've gone to three shows in Atlanta in the last couple of ...
